The state of Maine has never been notorious for producing straight forward hardcore acts, but Wake Up Call is rising above the stereotypes and are ready to slap the naysayers in the face. With a traditional brand of stripped down, fast paced hardcore, Wake Up Call are following in the path of the old school hardcore bands that paved the way for the genre, yet are sticking to a style they call their own, without worry about the current trends in modern day punk rock. This is their demo pressed onto vinyl. Very fast and old school, watch out for their debut ep on Think Fast!

The state of Maine has never been notorious for producing straight forward hardcore acts, but WAKE UP CALL is rising above the stereotypes and are ready to slap the naysayers in the face. With a traditional brand of stripped down, fast paced hardcore/punk, WAKE UP CALL are following in the path of the old school hardcore bands that paved the way for the genre, yet are sticking to a style they can call their own, without worry about the current trends in modern day punk rock. The vocal track by Aaron Billon gives the songs a whole new dimension, and a very old school hardcore feel, easily comparable to the likes of WARZONE or UNDERDOG. With a simple, clean song structure, plenty of back up vocals, and solo hooks, One Eye Open captures everything needed to grab a hold of the listener and make them beg for more by the ring out of the closing track. With the perfect recipe, One Eye Open is a flawless debut, that is sure to be talked about for years to come among the hardcore and punk scene.

Walk Aside have a good deal of that late 80s, Gorilla Biscuits-styled melodicore in them. You can tell that these guys know their 7 Seconds records backward and forward, and the semi-catchy crew choruses are never in shortage. This also has so much of the hardcore scene of the past few years in it that there's no way you can call these guys a nostalgia act. There are traces of early Dischord bands to be found as well, most evidently in the the final track, on which Walk Aside covers the Teen Idles' 'Sneakers

Seattle, WA's Walls return with just six tracks on one side of a 12inch, pushing their own envelope of noisy, discordant hardcore punk that takes cues from the Melvins and Jesus Lizard at slower points and Rorschach and Born Against at faster points. They feature members of Cold Sweat, Iron Lung, Gehenna and Artimus Pyle.

Featuring 3/4 of the final COLD SWEAT lineup (and for that matter, one-half of IRON LUNG), as well as the vocalist from NEGATIVE STEP and SOCIETY OF FRIENDS, WALLS s/t full-length serves as an expansion of their debut EP issued earlier in 2007. Indeed it is filled with a wider array of lurching rhythms, atonal riffs, and angry, stream-of-consciousness vocals, that, in the parlance of our times, 'pick up where they left off'. Comparisons tend to liken their music to an intersection of loose early '90s hardcore like RORSCHACH, HEROIN, and BORN AGAINST, and the sludgy stylings of early JESUS LIZARD and MELVINS and nowadays CLOCKCLEANER records.

Walls features members of Cold Sweat and Iron Lung and their second LP, "The Future Is Wide Open," is a sarcastic bite out of society's apple. And what a rotten apple indeed. Bursting with angst and tension, this album is a relentless hardcore punk/noise rock demon-sound. There is no release from the future. The gates are shut. LP includes digital download.
