Worcester, MA hardcore band Mountain Man (ex-Verse, ex-Last Lights, current I Rise) has emerged as not only the next chapter of the underground Worcester music scene, but as an entire movement. In order for one to heal from the grieving process they must go through what is called "the five stages of grief" - denial, anger, bargaining, depression and, finally, acceptance. The German band MÖRSER plays old-school stomping death-metal, with a hint of hardcore that invites you to bang your head in midtempo as well as high tempo. The music is simple and is situated in the musical corner where ENTOMBED could be found once and where BOLT THROWER refuses to leave. This means that the music is still very enjoyable and to the point. Yet there is more to this 'Pure scum' than you might have thought until now. The record comprise 2 soundtracks to the comics 'Pure' and 'Scum'. A remarkable co-operation between two usually unrelated worlds of fanatics. Yet the idea is cool and deserves some credit.
