Sometime toward the end of 2006, Most Precious Blood vanished. Word eventually spread that Most Precious Blood had begun work on a new album. Let's be honest: a band like Most Precious Blood doesn't name their record "Do Not Resuscitate" unless they've got nothing left to lose - and this is when a band is at their best - when they have nothing to prove and they don't owe anything to anyone. Now available on colored vinyl. LP includes digital download.

This impressive four song debut of mid-paced hardcore strongly reminds me of Modern Life Is War still rough around the edges, tracks like 'Heartbeat Of America' show an uncanny ability to write catchy songs with powerful chorus parts that makes for a powerful debut. Don't miss out.

To almost everyone, the Samhain reference in the band name should serve to give you a hint of where these guys are coming from. To elaborate, let me throw out some more names for you - Only Living Witness, Undertow, with bits of old Metallica and contemporaries Iron Age. In short, what Mother Of Mercy brings to the table is punishing mid-tempo hardcore that's not short on monstrous riffs, demonic yowls, and parts designed to motivate every different variety of coreman to hurt the person standing next to them. Now with the release of their debut LP, Mother Of Mercy takes the time to flesh out their sound, as well as kick it up to the next level. With gatefold cover art and layout by E. of Swedish Black Metal gods Watain to round out the package there's no way you can pass this record up.

Formed in the spring of 2007, Mother Of Mercy plays contemporary metallic hardcore that draws some of the best elements of '90s HC with a well-executed tinge of metal. Their music is raw, abrasive and dark - highly influenced by Samhain, Undertow and Obituary - and a much-needed reviver of today's re-hashed "metalcore" sound. With several prior releases including the "No Eden" 7" and critically acclaimed "III" that was released last year on Six Feet Under Records and hailed as one of ScenePointBlank's "favorite records of the year," Mother Of Mercy's upcoming Bridge Nine debut full-length is nothing less than stellar and poised to be one of the best metallic hardcore releases of 2011. Vinyl version includes digital download. On colored vinyl.

Worcester, MA hardcore band Mountain Man (ex-Verse, ex-Last Lights, current I Rise) has emerged as not only the next chapter of the underground Worcester music scene, but as an entire movement. Featuring members of the budding hardcore band Last Lights, whose career was cut short by the untimely death of their singer, Mountain Man has picked up where Last Lights left off and has garnished similar acclaim in their young existence. Their debut record showcases the band's influences from genre pioneers like Neurosis to modern trash icons like Ceremony. Fast and punk.

Grief is defined as "a deep poignant distress caused by or as if by bereavement." In order for one to heal from the grieving process they must go through what is called "the five stages of grief" - denial, anger, bargaining, depression and, finally, acceptance. Through 17 tracks, the album channels the five stages of grief musically and lyrically - and they are as dark, bitter and ugly as one would expect. LP includes digital download. On colored vinyl.

The latest release by our friends from Richmond (ex wow owls, the set up). Five new songs of raw pissed of hardcore that reminds me on Burn (maybe soul control)- if they'd be more dirty, more raw, more pissed, more punk.

Norfolk, VA's MOUTHEATER bring a heavy, noisy style of rock that takes no prisoners and doesn't make any attempts to be pretty or melodic. They play a soundtrack to misery somewhat resembling THE JESUS LIZARD or early MELVINS. Three tracks produced by Steve Albini (Nirvana). For fans of the Jesus Lizard, Nirvana and Cursed.

While many of the early eighties pioneers of hardcore had moved along, the scene went through something of a renaissance with a new crop of energetic kids who had seized the power of the music and molded it into something that was relevant to the style of their times. Fast forward to 2008 and the inspiration for Mouthpiece's formation comes full circle with the release of 'Can't Kill What's Inside: The Complete Discography' on Revelation Records. THE 90's straight edge band- get this!

With numerous tracks on complations, an LP, two 7"s and a split CD under their belt, The
Movielife is likely to become a household name with the great response they have received
from "This Time Next Year." The album is a harmonious mix of the catchiest parts of pop
and indie rock blended together with a noticeable hardcore edge. "This Time Next Year,"

have people talking everywhere. Now available again on colored vinyl.

Aggression boils over through these six songs of hardcore punk that bring political and focused rage, with a passion that recalls bands from Crucifix to Poison Idea, and even Deathreat and Kill Your Idols. The brash and coarse vocals break the distortion and screeching guitars, passing on a message that is enraged and impassioned. The mix of English and Spanish lyrics make for a politically charged yet personal approach to punk and hardcore. Colored vinyl.

Debut EP featuring ex-Dead Serious and current Down to Nothing members. Expect an eleven minute anger management session with elements pulled from the late '80s NYHC scene into modern day hardcore. Tough, no frills hardcore heavy enough to punch through whatever's in your way. Their 'take no prisoners' approach definitely works for me- I've liked this more than expected Vinyl might be in stock later, but will have less songs.

My Revenge play a style of fast aggresive hardcore with lots of mosh parts that seems like it takes a lot of influence from the early 80's. The vocals are angry and the lyrics are about things like people getting caught up in drinking, skating, and just shitty people and things that suck. Can't argue with guys crazy enough to bring a chainsaw on stage. Did I mention they're straight edge as well? Skate straight!

One band on here named themselves after a Black Flag song and the other covers a Black Flag song so you already know that they've got good taste. Both bands play fast and angry, have great lyrics, and are from Richmond, VA. Dig It. Recommended for fans of Kill Your Idols and Black Flag. Colored vinyl available.

The German band MÖRSER plays old-school stomping death-metal, with a hint of hardcore that invites you to bang your head in midtempo as well as high tempo. The music is simple and is situated in the musical corner where ENTOMBED could be found once and where BOLT THROWER refuses to leave. This means that the music is still very enjoyable and to the point. Yet there is more to this 'Pure scum' than you might have thought until now. The record comprise 2 soundtracks to the comics 'Pure' and 'Scum'. A remarkable co-operation between two usually unrelated worlds of fanatics. Yet the idea is cool and deserves some credit. Just like the music itself. Over 37 minutes of ballroom music for the lonely metalheads: 5 new tracks (the songs meant for the comic 'Pure') and 4 re-mastered songs (from the sold-out comic 'Scum'). If you like there previous stuff you won't be disappointed.

"Unsilent Death" consists of 10 unrelenting and unapologetic songs with a sound not unlike the
late '80s Earache Records catalog mixed with early power violence. Recorded during the cold
winter of 2009 at Kurt Ballou's Godcity Recording Studio. Westbrook said: "It sounds like
Entombed covering Napalm Death and Drop Dead." Now available again on 180 gram vinyl with
a gatefold cover.

Bringing two energetic, but diversified, contemporary hardcore acts together in one pure and primal slab of wax, Nails And Skin Like Iron have collaboratively self-release this split 7" EP. The split leads off with two tracks of Skin Like Iron's melodic, yet abrasive, hardcore, boasting an ambitious and emotive energy that many similar contemporary acts lack in severely. The B-side of this crushing joint venture is owned by Nails, hailing from Oxnard, CA (the same town as the legendary Dr. Know), and undoubtedly one of the most devastating acts within the present expanses of hardcore.

Cleveland, Ohio's Names for Graves' sound can be described as nothing like the metal- tinged Cleveland bands that preceded them, but rather taking cues from hardcore's past and present without rehashing the youth crew era. Ex members of Committed, In The Red and Good Clean Fun. The first package is MIA, so sorry about the price tag.
