The first update of 2010 is finally done, and judging by the quality of the included records, the year definitely starts with a bang.
Of course there's new BANE vinyl (and don't forget to pick up a copy of the AT BOTH ENDS Fanzine that comes with a 2xEP compilation featuring two more exclusive BANE songs), the last ever CURSED EP, new vinyl from BLACKLISTED, the new DANGERS LP and the vinyl version of the first CARRIER album.
I've also managed to get my hands on copies of the incredible REMISSION LP (get this if you like Verbal Assault), and the elusive MEMORIAL LP (ex-Renee Heartfelt). There are even first press copies of the NAZI DUST EP and the AEROSOLS LP coming in- both sold out within hours from YOUTH ATTACK and I don't expect them to last long with me either.
Deathwish has finally reissued 'Death Knows Your Name' by THE HOPE CONSPIRACY, and ORGANIZED CRIME has a bunch of INTEGRITY reissues coming up, starting with their very first EP 'In Contrast Of Sin'. But the RORSCHACH 2xLP set and the reissue of the first STICKS & STONES EP are my personal favorites.

But there's no light without shadow and the ANOTHER BREATH LP certainly provides enough of the dark stuff. Yes, the record still isn't out. We're at the third set of tests and it looks like the Covers will be redone as well.. Murphy's Law is in full effect here- everything that can go wrong has gone wrong. Still, we're on the case and hope to have the records at some point.
Thanks to all of you who preordered the record (preorder version is sold out now)- I'm deeply sorry about the delay and I'm confident that the record'll be out soon, so keep your fingers crossed (but don't hold your breath waiting).

It's been a while since the last update and a lot has happened.
Portugal was awesome, I wish I could've stayed longer. I miss the sun and the food, but most importantly my friends down there, it was truly special.
The final DAY OF THE DEAD show saw them going out in style. We did a cool looking 'last show' Unbroken rip-off cover for 'Perspectives' and had special editions of 'A New Healing Process' as well. I should have leftovers soon- if anyone is interested in getting a copy, drop me a line.
The final issue of AT BOTH ENDS Fanzine is out and shippinig my way soon. It's a big-ass fanzine and it comes with a 2xEP compilation that has new tracks from BANE, GRADE (no kidding), UNRESTRAINED and BETWEEN EARTH AND SKY (members of TRIAL). I'll get a bunch of copies and some exclusive vinyl colors, I'm told. I will have copies for wholesale as well, so if you'd like to pick up a few for your mailorder/distro, let me know.
If you want yet more reading material, look no further than EVERYBODY'S SCENE: The Story Of Connecticut's Anthrax Club. A 208 page book about the history of the famous Anthrax club, filled with old pics, flyers and a fascinating look at the legendary venue.
Of course there are tons of cool records as well. New releases from CONVERGE and RISE & FALL lead the pack, with new records from FORFEIT, OUTBREAK and DEFEATER following closely.
There are two new EP's from BANE and another two on the horizon (they should be here this december)! I also feel the need to mention the GIVE LP, because it's awesome if you're into rocking emo/post hardcore. If that's your cup of tea, make sure to check these guys out.
Bridge Nine has rereleased both the 'United Blood' EP and the 'Victim In Pain' LP from AGNOSTIC FRONT, and they're still as powerful as ever.
Thanks to Dom and A389, 'The Promise' from RINGWORM gets a welcome reissue as well. Far ahead of its time, this LP is a prefect example of the darker Clevo sound in the INTEGRITY vein.
But the cream of the crop is definitely the FINAL EXIT discography. It's basically the guys from REFUSED switching intruments and playing fast as fuck straight edge hardcore. Apart from an EP on Third Party, they've never released any vinyl, and both their records ('Teg' and 'Umea'), were only available on CD- until today. 43 tracks on two LP's and there's a DVD as well! I'm gonna order these once, because they are pricey, so if you'd like to get a copy, order now!
According to Aram, the CARRY ON vinyl is shipping first thing next week, so it should be here eventually. The entire press was faulty and had to be redone, hence the delay.
Thanks to a helping hand from the band, the BROTHERS - Tragedy EP/MCD is now finally in stock. Those guys paid the US label (I did the record with) a visit and sent everything my way. After 12 months, it's good to finally have this record in my hands. It's a worthy follow-up to 'Black Friday', but not just more of the same... hear for yourself.
But there are sad news as well. ANOTHER BREATH had to cancel their european tour, which was quite a blow. I've been looking forward to see the guys again.
Still, 'God Complex', their new LP, is at the plant and should be out mid-december. It's probably their best record yet, and I've made sure to make it one of the best looking Assault releases ever. Preorders are up at www.assaultrecords.com, but of course, you could just order a copy with your regular order.
One of these days, you'll be greeted by a relaunched page which'll allow you to order online...yay!
Wait for it, but don't hold your breath.

NORTHCORE STRAIGHT EDGE!
Things are busy here, because I'm getting ready to leave for a 10-day trip to Portugal. Good friends and Assault alumni DAY OF THE DEAD will play their final show october 10th at the TIME OUT CAFE in Montijo down there. Their friends FOR THE GLORY and ADORNO are playing as well, so it'll be a night to remember for sure. Hopefully, there'll be no blood, but sweat and tears will flow. Last show shirts and limited vinyl will be for sale at the show as well.
I'm leaving october 3rd, so orders won't ship (unfortunately) until I'm back. But there's an upside to this, as new records from STRIKE ANYWHERE, DOOMRIDERS and hopefully CARRY ON will be in stock once I return. If you want to order, please do so as soon as possible, so I can make sure to have enough copies of everything once I return and can start shipping immediately.
I'm also hoping to have the vinyl version of 'Saviour' from OUTRAGE and the I REFUSE LP in stock soon. But even without these two, this update has more than enough interesting releases.
New (and little older) records from YOUTH ATTACK RECORDS, DEATHWISH, BRIDGE NINE and CRUCIAL RESPONSE, a CITIZENS ARREST Discography and tons more are waiting to be discovered.
Unfortunately, there are still no news concerning the BROTHERS EP, it's like a neverending nightmare.
Preorders for the upcoming ANOTHER BREATH LP should be up sometime next month, keep your fingers crossed. I have two more releases planned before the end of the year, more on both soon.

The new mailorder update is finally online!
Highlights of this update include a limited split EP from DOUBLE NEGATIVE, new vinyl from NARROWS and REIGN SUPREME, as well as new records from THE HOPE CONSPIRACY, IRON AGE and ANCHOR.
In other news, BYO Records are poised to release 'LET THEM KNOW - The Story Of Youth Brigade and BYO Records' this fall. It's an impressive package that not only incldes a 90 minute documentary, but a double LP and a coffee table photo book as well. SRP for the package is $49.99, and I'm only ordering them for people who preorder. So let me know if you'd like to reserve a copy.
No news concerning the BROTHERS - Tragedy EP/MCD yet (it'll be here one day), but we're hard at work on our next release, the new ANOTHER BREATH record (yes!). It's called 'God Complex' and it's easily their most mature (and arguably best) material to date. Preorders will be up soon and of course you'll be the first to know!

It's a big one with tons of cool records (in my opinion), but the new ASSAULT releases are especially dear to me.
The new JUST WENT BLACK EP is out now, and so is the DAY OF THE DEAD LP. Both came out beautifully, and we still have colored vinyl available of each. I also have the first bunch of the 'Fathers & Sons' LP from AT HALF-MAST.

Welcome to the first XsentientX-update in 2009- and it's a big one!
It looks like 2009 will be a good year (again) for hardcore. Vinyl versions of discographies from MOUTHPIECE, UNBROKEN and UNDERTOW are in the works, to coincidence with the release of the BURNING FIGHT book (can't wait!), and that is just the beginning.
Expect new records from GOVERNMENT WARNING, JUST WENT BLACK and THE EFFORT amongst others. Speaking of THE EFFORT, they're on tour right now, make sure to check them out!
In the news section you'll find new records from bands like THE EFFORT, DEATH IS NOT GLAMOROUS, MIND ERASER and SOUL CONTROL and labels like Youngblood, Painkiller, React! and Words of War. Add to that the vinyl release of the ONE LAST WISH LP (and a bunch of classic reissues) on Dischord and lots of restocks, it should be impossible (hopefully) to leave empty-handed.
The WOLF WHISTLE records are in now, but the ADULT CRASH books have been delayed and are expected late january at this point. There are a few more records coming in mid/late january (like the MINDSET EP), but since I'm far away from weekly updates, I've added them anyway. I'm thinking of ways to inform you about new records more regulary (maybe a blog) in the future!
After lying low for a few month, 2009 will be a busy year for Assault Records.
There are no news about the BROTHERS EP right now, as I'm unable to contact the US label (Saw Her Ghost) in charge of production. Hopefully all this'll end good- I'll keep you posted. But the ill-fated BROTHERS EP isn't the only record in the works here at Assault HQ.
I have everything in hand for the TALL SHIPS - Voyages LP and it's off to the plant next week. Expect passionate modern hardcore.
The vinyl version of the AT HALF-MAST - Fathers And Sons LP will be at the plant soon after. This is a split release with our good friends at Goodwill Records.
I'm also happy to announce the new DAY OF THE DEAD LP. It's called 'Perspectives' and sounds (and looks) amazing. Once I have all the artwork in my hands it's off to the plant as well.
An EP called 'Crossroads' is the last of the new releases. This is the follow-up to 'Embracing Emptiness' and the band is called JUST WENT BLACK.
Expect preorders for all these sometime in january, along with overdue updates of the Assault pages.

Welcome to another late night XsentientX update!
For some reason the Euro has lost value against the US Dollar, which is unfortunate for record imports. Let's hope that this is just temporary.
I have a few copies left of the mighty RADIO SILENCE book, pretty much essential reading. November will see the release of ADULT CRASH, a photo book that includes short essays and a 7inch compilation. Reserve your copy now!
Of course there are new records as well. Apart from the obvious (the new FUCKED UP 2xLP rocks), there's a slew of smaller releases that deserve your attention. BLACK MARK, SAKES ALIVE! and REBUILT are just a few that come to mind right now.
After delays too numerous to mention, the RIGHT IDEA 12inch is here as well, as is a live EP from the almighty UNDERDOG. Check out the news below for more details on those and lots more!
No news yet on the BROTHERS EP/MCD, hopefully in the next update.

It certainly seems like the summer is gone already- the wind is picking up and temperatures are dropping. A perfect time for another update, because when it comes to hardcore, this fall is far from disappointing.
There's a steady stream of new releases, lead by awesome euro bands (VOGUE, RHYTHM TO THE MADNESS, BALANCE and COMMON CAUSE), new records from established bands like CEREMONY, BITTER END, I RISE, VIOLATION and TRASH TALK and releases by new bands like CHEAP TRAGEDIES, TROUBLEMAKER and RAH!.
There's lots more to be discovered in the NEWS section, so take a few minutes to check it out.
There are even news on the cursed RIGHT IDEA vinyl. Straight from the horses' mouth:
'After three sets of rejected test presses, two different masters being made, screwed up covers, plant and shipping delays, and many sleepless nights were excited to announce that were FINALLY ready to ship the Right Idea pre-orders and all of the REACT! merch orders. Orders start shipping early next week (september 8-12).'
So hopefully, the vinyl will finally be in stock in later this month.
A few records are en route as I write this, but everything should be in stock by the end of next week, so order with confidence. I'll do my best to ship everything as soon as possible and I'm sorry for any delays you might've experienced. No matter how hard I try, I can't avoid the occasional bump in the road.
ASSAULT RECORDS has a new BROTHERS 7inch/CD coming up next, preorders will be up soon and you'll be the first to know. A split release with SAW HER GHOST RECORDS, it'll be a limited pressing and we couldn't be more excited. We're working on a few records beyond that, so look out for more label news soon!
COUNTING THE DAYS are still on tour with RUINER. They have tour versions for 'Finding A Balance' and their split EP with HOLLYWOOD with them, so go out and support both bands. They're intense and passionate and even have Pizza tattoos!

It's been a while since the last update, I know.
I've been waiting for the new VERSE and KILLING THE DREAM LP's, easily the most anticipated records this summer (apart from the upcoming HAVE HEART LP), but it looks like both ran into delays because the pressing plant is backed up. They should be out sometime in june, but there isn't a definite release date yet. I'll have copies as soon as they're out (along with the RIGHT IDEA 12
It's about time for another update, eventhough there are still records I wish I could've included. Not in this update, but here soon:
COPTIC TIMES EP and the new POLICE & THIEVES EP on Youngblood Records (both will ship may 5th), DISNIHIL - s/t 12inch (awesome D-Beat HC), NO GOAL - Vital EP, ON - Vital Times EP (amazing SXE HC) and two new AT HALF-MAST split singles (one with VALUES INTACT, the other with TO THE EMBERS).
The BREAK THROUGH demo EP (including a previously unreleased track) on REACT! Records ran into delays, so the RIGHT IDEA EP will be out next. I'll have copies of both as soon as they're available. Next month will also see the release of a new VERSE EP as a teaser for their upcoming LP (can't wait!).
Still, even without those, the news section is filled with a rich selection of hardcore vinyl. Apart from the new BLACKLISTED LP and the LET DOWN LP, there's the EFFORT debut LP, which is simply amazing. New vinyl from COUNTING THE DAYS, DARVOCETS and RESONANCE, not to mention the REMAIN LP (finally) make sure there's no slack and LPs from MAKE IT COUNT, MORE THAN EVER and AYS are proof that the german scene is alive and kicking.
Some of you had to wait a little longer than usual to get their last order and I'm sorry about that. Not every record is in physically on hand when the update goes out, so there's always the possibility of delays.
Things usually work out just fine, not so this time. The new EMPTY VISION EP still isn't here yet, and the DEAD TIRED records failed to materialize as well. They'll be in stock eventually, but it seems that adding them to the last update was a bit premature.
Sorry for the wait, I hope it'll be worth it once you get the records.
Unfortunately, the post office is on strike again right now, so delays might not be a thing of the past just yet.
XsentientX is still pretty much a one-man show, but I'll do my best to get back to all of you in a timely fashion and I WILL get back to you.

I love to get new records, the excitement of checking out new bands or the anticipation towards new tracks from old favorites.
The latest mailorder update has both. New releases from EMPTY VISION, LIFE LONG TRAGEDY, THE FIRST STEP, THIS IS HELL and PAINT IT BLACK are definitely worth celebrating. New bands like CIRCLES, FORFEIT, RESIST and FOUNDATION are to be discovered and there are some awesome hardcore punk records (PRESS GANG LP, new releases from NO WAY RECORDS and P.TRASH).
If you prefer to cuddle up with a good book, try the John Joseph biography 'The Evolution Of A Cro-Magnon' on for size or get one of the last ever copies of the amazing FLEX! book.
In short, I hope that you're as pleased with the contents of this update as I am!

It has been a good year for XSENTIENTX and ASSAULT RECORDS- thanks to all of you. I might not have a flashy webpage, shopping carts or even pictures of the records I'm selling, but I'm lucky to have your support.
The mailorder and label are still as DIY as ever, taking up all my spare time. Being able to do this, to be a part of this scene means a lot to me and YOU made it all possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The JUST WENT BLACK shirts are in now as well. Black shirts with an awesome URBAN WASTE rip-off design, available in all sizes. There aren't too many of these and I'm pretty sure that they'll be limited to the initial print run. Of course the band'll have copies for sale at their next few shows as well, but I expect these to go quick.
We also did our first ever ASSAULT RECORDS shirt. The design is very simple, but stylish because of that. The front just reads 'got passion?' (inspired by the 'got milk' ad campaign), the back has the Assault logo in the neck. Shirts are printed with white ink on black shirts. We've only made a handful of these, and they'll be gone soon.
The new FLEX book will be in stock this week, thanks for those of you who preordered, just metion the preorder with your order and you're taken care of. 2/3 of the print run are gone already, so if you're on the fence about wether or not to buy the book, shit or get off the pot, because these will be gone in a matter of days, only to be found on ebay.
December 8th will see the release of the new BLACK FRIDAY 29 LP, and the DOWN & OUTS LP on Dead & Gone Records and I'll have copies of both soon after. Feel free to add either to your order, if you don't mind the wait, but want to be the first on your block to have the records.
I have a bunch of second hand records and rarities and I'm planning to send out a special update once I've typed everything in, so be on the lookout for that (but don't hold your breath waiting).
